New vice governors named

PHUKET: The Interior Ministry yesterday announced Phuket’s three new vice governors, who will be taking their posts on October 10.

The vice governors were named as Sanit Sriwihok, previously the Surat Thani Provincial Chief Administrative Officer (Palad); Theera Anantasereewittaya, previously the Department of Local Administration inspector in Bangkok; and the second female vice governor for Phuket, Siwaporn Chuasawat, previously the Land Department inspector in Bangkok.

Vice Governor Prajiad Aksornthammakul retired on September 30, while Phuket Vice Governor Chokdee Amornwat has been transferred to a similar position in Surin and Vice Governor Kajornkiet Rakpanitmanee was transferred to the vice governorship of Nakorn Sri Thammarat, where former Phuket Governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada took his new post earlier this month (story here).

The transfers come at the beginning of the government’s new fiscal year.
