Phuket Property: Supercars zoom to SMART Expo

PHUKET: THE Phuket Gazette caught up with Mr Hoi Cheung, Director of 3:C who are the organizing the upcoming SMART Property & Lifestyle Expo to be held at the Royal Phuket Marina, from December 27-30, 2012.

Phuket Gazette: What makes Phuket a good destination for the SMART
Property & Lifestyle Expo?

Hoi Cheung: Phuket in recent years has become known as the playground of the world’s rich and famous, attracting pop stars, celebrities, supermodels and multi-millionaires. According to the Airport Authority of Thailand (AOT), the “Pearl of the South” has seen a 20 per cent growth in tourism in 2011 from the previous year, with 4.2 million visitors.

Simply, we believe Phuket will become the next Monte Carlo of Asia and the show fits well.

Tell us about the lifestyle elements at the expo. What can visitors see at the show?
The show is about “accessible luxury”. We have created a show where there is something for everyone. On site you can see supercars, yachts, take helicopter tours, see luxury property exhibits, attend free seminars and much more. In addition, we have a great kids area by British International School, special food and beverage offers for visitors; you can even attend daily wine and rum tastings for free. It’s a great way to see the best of Phuket all under one roof. More importantly entry is free.

I understand you have supercars such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis on display, are there any specific models that really stand out?

We have both the official dealers of Ferrari and Lamborghini at the show. The highlights include the Lamborghini Aventador as well as the Ferrari FF.

Both these cars are over 32mn baht and both have over 600 brake horse power (bhp). In addition, there are other models on display; including a race version of the Gallardo, Lamborghini Super Trofeo, which is actually available for a test drive.

Other than what is on display, I understand there will also be some paid helicopter tours and yacht cruises, that visitors can register for. Could you elaborate on these offers?

Yes, visitors can take a luxury yacht cruise fully inclusive of food/drinks and activities for only 6,900 baht, or enjoy great coastal views via the helicopter tour for 3,650 baht – the pricing is specially discounted for Expo visitors.

The idea is that you can literally spend a whole day at the wonderful Royal Phuket Marina – perhaps have lunch, see some great properties, see some supercars, let the kids play in the kids’ area, take a helicopter ride direct from Royal Phuket Marina, get on an open yacht (there are berthed yachts for visitors as well as paid yacht cruises) and perhaps even have a drink at one the three available restaurants on site. It’s a great day out.

What type of properties will be on offer at the expo and are there any amazing deals that you feel would attract a lot of buyer attention?

You will see the best of Phuket and other destinations too. There are a number of Phuket projects suitable for investors at all price ranges, from affordable holiday condos in Patong [US$199 thousand and up] to oceanfront villas around the island [US$1 million and up]. Additionally there are property projects in other parts of Thailand and Asia.

Tell us about the free seminars. You seem to have some good speakers?
The seminars are a very important part of the show. The aim is to educate property investors on what they need to look out for before they buy, so we address the legal, tax and finance issues, give market overviews of real estate, and generally give an opportunity for the audience to ask questions pertaining to property investment. It’s free to attend and highly recommendable for investors looking to buy property. Speakers include billionaires, CEOs of property companies, legal and tax experts and lifestyle gurus.

The SMART Property & Lifestyle Expo is proudly sponsored by the Phuket Gazette, PGTV and the nationally televised Phuket Today show on UBC/True Visions. Phuket Today, co-produced by PGTV and MCOT World, will be providing coverage of this event. The half-hour show runs six times a day, seven days a week, on channels 58 and 99.

To hear the seminars and see, feel and taste the luxury life, remember to visit the exhibition. Entry is free.
