Smile, please

PATONG: The Club Andaman Beach Resort has organized a “Siam Smile Contest” on November 22 to celebrate Thai culture. Wandee Chang-Ngam, Assistant PR Director of Club Andaman Beach Resort, said today that the winners will be the people with the most impressive “wais” and smiles. The contest, which will be in the morning, will be in two parts, the first for schoolchildren, with prizes in three classes – kindergarten, primary school and high school students – and the second for hotel staff. Winners will get scholarships ranging from 800 baht up to 1,500 baht, along with plaques from Governor CEO Pongpayome Vasaputi and MP Chalermlak Kebsab. In the afternoon Ajarn Sukhum Nuansakul, a notable speaker from Bangkok, will host a talk show celebrating the Thai smile. The day will start at 8 am and finish at 4 pm. Entry to the event is free.
