Maikhao tambon boss commits suicide

MAIKHAO: The president of the Maikhao Tambon Administrative Council (OrBorTor) was found dead at his home at 164 Moo 3, Tambon Maikhao, Amphur Talang, early yesterday morning, having apparently committed suicide. Pol Capt Adul Nirapai of Phuket Town Police Station said the dead man, Boonchoo Rakrungsimansuk, 55, is believed to have died after swallowing about a liter of pesticide. Though the reason for Boonchoo’s death is not clear, police are working on three theories. The first relates to conflicts with a member or members of the OrBorTor. The second relates to missing revenue from water supplies in the area, while the third is linked to the construction of a five-star hotel in Maikhao, a project which had been delayed for quite some time, but which was approved by Boonchoo just a day before his death.
