Foul play not ruled out in death of unidentified woman

PHUKET: Police have yet to rule out foul play in the death of an unidentified woman whose body was found floating in a Rassada canal this morning.

Officers believe that the woman had been dead for two days before her body was discovered by villagers.

“At this point, all we know is that she is about 150-160 centimeters tall and between 25 and 30 years old,” said Lt Col Chana Sutthimat of the Phuket City Police. “She has short, dark hair and dark skin, and was wearing a white shirt with denim shorts. It is unclear what nationality she is at this point.”

The body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital to determine the cause of death, while police search the missing persons database for possible matches.
