extensive, diverse and spam-free portfolio of classifieds which
are genuine and placed in good faith.
Policies:
All ads in the Island Trader
Online (and in the hard-copy Phuket Gazette) are reviewed and edited
where necessary for clarity, brevity, and, in the case of free ads,
eligibility.
The following types of ads
are automatically deleted:
Those offering or seeking products or
services which are, or may be construed to be, illegal;
Those containing offensive, objectionable,
or otherwise inappropriate material;
Those containing complaints against shops,
employers, employees, business partners, husbands, wives, lovers,
government officers or anyone else.
Those likely to be of little interest
to Gazette readers, (e.g. Pit Bull puppies in Bolivia);
Those for CDs or DVDs of any description; recorded music;
casino websites; or 'get rich quick' schemes;
Those placed by advertisers who spam or
otherwise abuse the Island Trader Online service; and
Those for credit or money lending (other
than offers from commercial banks or government-approved finance
companies).
The following are not published
online without payment:
Ads offering new, as opposed to second-hand,
items;
Ads offering (or seeking) multiple quantities
of anything, e.g. 7 used diving regulators, 4 dive tanks, 6 motorbikes,
"several" modems, "wide selection" of Persian
carpets, etc;
Ads which offer (or seek) the same item
or service more than once in a 30-day period;
Ads containing anything for sale at less
than 1,000 baht;
More than 3 free ads from the same advertiser in any 3-month period, or more than 10 in any 12-month period;
Ads from parties whose registration ("Gazetteer")
details with the Gazette Online are incomplete or incorrect;
Ads from parties who have registered with
the Gazette Online under more than one name or identity;
Ads placed in the wrong category, e.g.,
a Recruitment ad placed under Employment Wanted, etc.
Any ad which in the sole discretion of
our editors is or might be, or might by readers be construed to
be, of a commercial nature.
